Since I began producing 'Steam Locos In Profile' in 2012, fans have sent in countless requests, including some from overseas. However, because the logistics of producing SLIPs are very complicated, many of these requests have been too impractical for my crew and I to undertake. 

 

...until now. 

 

 

Project Outline

We would like to commemorate our Fifth Anniversary by reviewing some European locomotives for our Volume 3 DVD release. 

While running a poll on social media last year, fans voted for us to cover the German 'Kriegslok' 2-10-0s. 

However, if we visit Germany to produce this film, we would like to make the most of our time there and also review the Hartz Mountain Railway 2-10-2Ts.

 

This will provide enough material for TWO BONUS FILMS on 'Steam Locos In Profile' Volume 3. However, to undertake this, we shall need to spend a minimum of two weeks in Europe at a cost of £3000. 

 

We would like to release our Volume 3 DVD in time for Christmas 2017. And there are lots of bookings to arrange before we can go anywhere. In order to do this, we need to reach our goal by the beginning of August; to allow filming to commence by September at the very latest.

While we sell DVDs and digital content, there is nowhere near sufficient income to make special trips like this AND keep producing SLIPs at the same time. This project simply cannot happen without your support.

Our budget has been devided into three categories:

 

Film Production:

This is required to cover the following expenses:
-Fuel
-English Channel Crossing

-Accomodation

-Museum & Railway Tickets
-Crew Expenses

 

We estimate this will cost £1900

 

Reward Production:

This is required for the following:
-Printing Reward Certificates

-Printing Reward Posters

-Issuing copies of SLIPs 2018 Calendars

-Issuing copies of SLIPs Volume 3 DVDs

-Delivery of rewards around the world

 

We estimate this will cost £1000

 

Fees:

Paypal shall charge a comission of approximately £100 assuming the target is met. 

 

£1900 + £1000 + £100 = £3000

 

 

Other Ways You Can Help

 

If you cannot contribute, you can still share our campaign to those who can. If our last crowdfunding campaign has taught us anything, it's that a little word goes a long way. 

 

 

Why Are We Not Running This Through A Crowdfunding Website?

 

Put simply, traditional crowdfunding websites such as Kickstarter and IndiGoGo charge higher transaction and insertion fees. The higher the fees, the more money we would need to raise. By running this campaign through my own website, the transaction fees shall be kept to a minimum. 

 

 

What Happens If We Don't Reach Our Goal?

 

We have every confidence in the loyalty and support from all of you to allow us to undertake this project. However, if we fall short of our goal by our deadline, we shall make every attempt to provide the rest of the funds from other sources. If this does not prove viable, we shall send a notification via the 'Steam Locos In Profile' Facebook page. This will allow you to request a refund of your donation (minus PayPal fees), provided any rewards received are returned in the condition in which they were sent.
