Steam Locos In Profile - In The USA
Thanks to the support of more than 280 fans, I spent six months of 2022 in the United States Of America filming for the new series of Steam Locos In Profile;
I travelled from state to state, visiting tourist railroads and museums to gather original material for the series.
I documented some of the most exclusive steam locomotives in the country, resulting in ten new original films.
Highlights include:
-Documenting the 100-mile journey of Union Pacific 'Big Boy' No4014 from Denver to Cheyenne in July 2022.
-Climbing to the 6,288ft summit of Mount Washington in pursuit of the last cog-worked steam locomotives in regular service in the USA.
-Coverage of the 'Great Western Steam Up' event at the Nevada State Railroad Museum over the Fourth Of July weekend.
-Operations on the Reading & Northern Railroad with T1 4-8-4 No2102, including revenue earning freight workings.
-Reciting the story of The Great Locomotive Chase during the American Civil War, popularised by Buster Keaton and Walt Disney.
